Living at home:
As you get older, maintaining a home and lifestyle becomes more challenging. There may be fewer opportunities to participate in activities with others. Driving or running errands can be difficult. Eating healthy and preparing meals becomes a chore. You may require a greater dependence on others to help with daily tasks. Household maintenance–including laundry, cleaning, shoveling snow, or mowing the lawn–becomes challenging to keep up with. While it’s hard to imagine leaving a place you’ve become accustomed to, the many advantages of independent living communities are certainly worth considering.
Independent living:
Today, many independent living communities offer a resort-style atmosphere–filled with amenities to enhance every lifestyle. Residents can take part in engaging social, cultural, and educational events every day. At The Arbordale, you’ll find benefits like under-building parking, meal plan options, light housekeeping, transportation services, daily fitness opportunities, and more. Most communities offer coffee shops, game rooms, libraries, salons, and dining rooms that provide a great quality of life and daily interaction opportunities. Multiple floor plans let you choose the space best suited for your needs. Fully equipped apartment kitchens give you the option to cook your favorite meals and make you feel at home. Best of all, residents are surrounded by friendly neighbors and welcoming staff. When you compare the cost of living at home to everything included with independent living communities, it’s more affordable than you may think. Plus, home health care options may be brought into Transforming Age Community’s apartments.
Assisted Living:
Assisted living communities are designed for seniors who cannot or choose not to live independently. It may be the only option for seniors who need help with basic day-to-day tasks like getting dressed, walking, bathing, or taking medications. Most assisted living spaces are smaller than independent living apartments and do not offer full kitchens. They provide a dining area with meals added into the price and activity options but not the full range of amenities offered at independent living communities. Typically, assisted living is significantly more costly than independent living due to the cost of medically trained staff on site.

There are elevators connecting all levels. If stairs are still part of your daily exercise, you may choose to use the carpeted stairwells located on each side of the building, but the choice is up to you.
You may live as quiet and privately or as actively and socially engaged as you like. No one tells you what you must do. However, we find a majority of residents truly enjoy the variety of social, educational, cultural, spiritual, volunteer, and wellness programs offered at The Arbordale. You will find a wide variety of life enriching opportunities both inside and outside of our community.
You bet! As a resident of The Arbordale, you may have guests stay in your apartment home or reserve our Guest Suite. You will have more free time and energy to spend with friends and family now that you’ve unloaded the hassles of home maintenance!
The freedom to travel without the worries is one of the benefits of living at The Arbordale. Just close the door and let the front office know you’ll be out of town. No worries about the mail or someone breaking in! Enjoy your travels and we’ll leave the light on for you.
If you have a reserved parking space in the garage and reach the point where you can no longer drive, you’ll relinquish the parking space and the monthly parking cost. We have courtesy transportation available for many basic needs like doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping within a convenient distance.

You are our special guest and we will extend the warmest welcome to you! When you come for your visit, you will meet with our Marketing Director. She will ask you questions in regards to where you live now, and what you are interested in. You will be invited to tour The Arbordale, and you will receive a brochure with pricing and floor plans. We will discuss the brochure and pricing with you and answer any questions you may have. It’s that easy and we have fun while doing it!
It’s easy — simply contact us to join the program. A refundable reservation deposit is all that is required.
When a residence becomes available, The Arbordale’s Marketing Director will contact you to arrange for a personal tour. You are free to decline. There is no penalty for declining and you will maintain your position on the waiting list. You will be contacted when the next residence becomes available. The waiting list is great for people who are not quite sure when they might be ready to move into The Arbordale and want to keep their options open.
Once on the list, you are contacted when a residence is available — before outside marketing is pursued. While waiting, you will receive our community newsletter and you are welcome to participate in the many social, educational and dining opportunities available.
