Katie brings 20 years of real estate investment experience to her role as Chief Investment Officer. Her expertise ranges from acquisitions to structuring joint ventures to overseeing complex mixed-use development projects. Katie is passionate about senior housing and the market opportunity for growing a senior housing portfolio in today’s demographic and macroeconomic environment.
Most recently, Katie was Head of Real Estate Investments for Cascade Asset Management Company, investing on behalf of Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation. As Head of Real Estate Investments, she oversaw real estate investment strategy, sourcing and execution across all property types and geographies. Katie currently serves as a member of Cascade’s Real Estate Advisory Committee.
Prior to joining Cascade, Katie was an Executive Director in UBS’ Real Estate and Private Markets division, where she closed more than $3 billion of real estate transactions, primarily on the East Coast. Prior to UBS, she was a Senior Real Estate Economist with Property & Portfolio Research, specializing in housing strategy.
She volunteers as a Board Member of the Washington Autism Alliance and is a member of the Columbia Business School Real Estate Circle.
She holds a B.A. in French and Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis and earned an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School with a concentration in Real Estate Finance.
