When Kassa arrived in the U.S. from Ethiopia in 2015, he carried with him little more than a dream—to build a better life and serve others. With limited English and a heart full of hope, he began by helping fellow immigrants navigate their new home in Seattle. A chance assignment as a security guard at Parkshore changed everything. There, Kassa connected with staff who saw his potential and encouraged him to pursue a career in healthcare.
With their mentorship and the life-changing support of the Employee Education Program, Kassa earned his CNA, then his LPN, and today proudly serves as a Registered Nurse. Free from the weight of student debt, he and his growing family are thriving. Kassa’s story is still being written—his sights are now set on healthcare administration and one day joining Doctors Without Borders to give back globally.
