BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 22, 2026 — GSI, the development, consulting, and advisory affiliate of Transforming Age, is pleased to announce that JP Emery, AIA, NCARB, has joined the organization as Vice President of Development. JP brings more than 22 years of experience in senior living architecture and design, with a career dedicated to shaping environments that elevate the aging experience. In his new role, he will lead multidisciplinary teams across all development phases, guiding projects from early concept through construction and final occupancy.
“JP’s deep experience and passion for creating human-centered environments makes him an exceptional addition to our development team,” said David Knight, President of GSI. “His ability to integrate innovative design thinking with development execution will help us create communities that are not only functional, but inspiring, engaging, and deeply connected to the people who live there.”
Prior to joining GSI, JP served as a Studio Director and Global Practice Leader for Senior Living at Gensler, where he led projects across the United States and supported design teams worldwide. His work is recognized for advancing forward-thinking approaches to senior living design, including a focus on biophilic elements, wellness-centered environments, and spaces that foster connection, dignity, and purpose.
JP is a licensed architect in Washington and Oregon. He also serves on the board of the Washington State Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, reflecting his commitment to advancing both the built environment and the broader aging experience.
He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona and holds an MBA from Pinchot University.
At GSI, JP will collaborate closely with clients and partners to bring visionary, future-focused environments to life—communities designed to support purpose, well-being, and connection, enriching healthspans as older adults continue to live longer lives.
