Executive Director Spotlight Series: Meet Jasmine Banks of Tradition

At Transforming Age, our communities are shaped by leaders who bring passion, purpose, and heart to everything they do. Through our Executive Director Spotlight Series, we’re introducing the people who help create the welcoming environments that residents, families, and team members call home.

This week, we’re proud to feature Jasmine Banks, Executive Director of Tradition. For Jasmine, senior living is more than a career path. It’s a lifelong passion that began in the very community she now leads.

Some careers are carefully planned. Others begin with an unexpected opportunity that grows into a calling. For Jasmine, that journey started at just 16 years old when she accepted her first job as a server at Tradition.

While many teenagers are simply looking for work experience, Jasmine quickly discovered something much deeper. Working alongside older adults gave her a sense of purpose, connection, and fulfillment that left a lasting impact.

“I realized right away that I have a strong passion for caring for active older adults and feeling purposeful in my work,” Jasmine shares.

What started as an after-school job soon became the foundation for her future. Over the years, her connection to Tradition only grew stronger. The community became much more than a workplace. It became a second home.

“Since I was 16, I knew I wanted to continue to give my time, energy, and efforts to make a difference,” she says.

Today, Jasmine has come full circle, leading the very community where her senior living journey began.

Serving as Executive Director carries special meaning because of her deep roots at Tradition and the relationships she has built along the way. Having witnessed firsthand the impact a senior living community can have on residents and families, she remains focused on creating an experience that feels welcoming, supportive, and meaningful for everyone who walks through the doors.

“It’s incredibly special to now be in a position where I can continue doing what I’ve always been passionate about, making a difference in the lives of our residents, families, and team members,” she says.

Her goal is simple: to help ensure Tradition continues to be a place that truly feels like home.

That commitment comes to life through the Transforming Age values she embraces every day, especially one value that stands out above the rest: fun.

For Jasmine, creating joyful moments isn’t separate from leadership. It’s an essential part of it.

“FUN is always front and center in what I do with residents, families, and the team,” she explains.

She believes people do their best when they feel comfortable being themselves, and that great leadership doesn’t have to come at the expense of joy. In fact, she sees the two as working hand in hand.

“I always try to be the person and leader that I would want to work with,” she says. “I believe you can be a strong leader while still having fun, enjoying the day, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable being themselves.”

That positive energy helps shape the culture at Tradition, where residents can enjoy meaningful experiences, team members feel valued, and families feel welcomed into the community.

Jasmine also credits Transforming Age’s Culture of Excellence for creating an environment where collaboration and innovation can thrive.

One of the things she values most is working alongside a team that is empowered to lead, contribute ideas, and continuously improve the resident experience.

“Having the opportunity to work in an environment where we are all leaders, encouraged to be innovative, and work together as a team is something really special to me,” she says.

Each day, she arrives with a sense of excitement and gratitude, knowing she is surrounded by people who share a common mission and support one another through every challenge and success.

At the heart of that mission are the relationships that make community life so rewarding.

For Jasmine, building trust and meaningful connections with residents, families, and team members is one of the most fulfilling aspects of her role. She believes strong relationships are especially important during difficult moments, providing a foundation for understanding, communication, and support.

“I value being someone people feel comfortable coming to, knowing that they will be heard, supported, and treated with respect,” she says.

Whether she’s helping a family navigate a transition, celebrating a resident milestone, or supporting a team member through a challenge, Jasmine strives to create an environment where people know they are valued and cared for.

Outside of Tradition, Jasmine enjoys spending time with the people and pets she loves most. She and her husband stay busy with their two American Bulldogs, often spending time outdoors and going on walks together. Family time is also a priority, and when she finds a little extra time for herself, she enjoys a good beauty treatment.

While those activities help her recharge, her passion for people remains constant both inside and outside the workplace.

As residents, families, and team members continue getting to know her, Jasmine wants them to know how grateful she is to be part of the Tradition community.

“I truly enjoy getting to know our residents, families, and team members and building strong, meaningful relationships,” she says.

She believes in leading with compassion, being someone others can depend on, and creating an environment where residents feel valued and team members feel supported.

Looking ahead, Jasmine is excited about the future of Tradition and the opportunity to continue growing alongside the community that helped shape her career.

Her story is a reminder that leadership isn’t always about where you start. Sometimes it’s about staying true to the people and purpose that inspire you along the way. For Jasmine, that journey began at Tradition, and today, she’s helping ensure it remains a place where residents, families, and team members can thrive for years to come.
