Everglen Village is a world-class community and that sets a new bar for affordable living. Located on the North East corner of NE 8th Street and 124th in Downtown Bellevue, the development preserves 8.4 acres of prime real estate for affordable senior housing and nonprofit partnerships and programs that support nearly 1200 low-income older adults. Strategically positioned in a walkable neighborhood, close to the new Light Rail station, Everglen Village offers an opportunity to create an intergenerational community hub, bringing together students, pedestrians, children, artists, vendors, and more.
A Growing Crisis: Meeting the Urgent Need for Senior Housing in Bellevue
Bellevue is facing a critical shortage of affordable housing, especially for older adults—nearly half of extremely low-income households in the city include someone aged 62 or older, and these seniors are disproportionately burdened by housing costs. In response, the City Council has set an ambitious goal of creating 5,700 affordable units over the next decade—more than doubling the previous target—with 2,700 units reserved for those earning up to 30% of the area median income. As the senior population grows and affordability gaps widen, Everglen Village is part of a vital movement to ensure that older adults in our community can age with dignity, stability, and connection.

A place where residents are not only supported but are active participants in a dynamic, intergenerational community. Everglen Village is a radical new concept that is ignited by like-minded partnerships and grounded non-profits. An oasis for early childhood development, higher levels of education, artists, chefs, and wellness providers, Everglen Village leverages the uniqueness of each generation to bring joy, purpose, mentorship, and wellness to all.
Located walking distance from Sound Transit’s Light Rail, Everglen Village is situated in the Wilburton Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) area. Wilberton TOD is a focus-area for the City of Bellevue, with land uses changes that take advantage of the newly added light rail station. Anchored by Downtown Bellevue to the west, BelRed to the north, and residential neighborhoods and large city parks to the east, the Wilburton TOD area serves a diverse and growing population by providing excellent access to housing, transit, parks, retail, neighborhood services, and employment. Plans, partnerships, and developments are in place to transform Wilberton into a walkable, vibrant, sustainable, mixed-use community with parks, community gathering spaces, trails, and a pedestrian-oriented district that are all accessible by light rail.

Currently in the masterplanning phase of development, Everglen Village is supported by Transforming Age and DASH. Everglen Village and Transforming Age are accepting partnership proposals for premium ground floor retail space dedicated to fellow nonprofit partners and other stakeholders invested in building a one-of-a-kind community. Collaborations are underway with anchor partners to possibly include YMCA, Music Works NW, and the Amazon Housing Equity Fund. Through the Transforming Age Network of affiliates, Everglen Village partners will also include integrated services on behalf of Circ Resident Services, peace love food, llc culinary services, and SHAG.
